SCHOOL IS CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.
ALL AFTER SCHOOL AND EVENING EVENTS ARE CANCELED.
BE SAFE IN THIS WEATHER.
Welcome Parents and Guardians…
The North Haledon School District cordially invites you
to partake in our PARENT UNIVERSITY program!
This is an opportunity to experience a hands-on approach as it pertains to not only state and local mandates, but to gain an understanding as to the “day in the life” of your child…or our children. This educational journey for your child should incorporate an opportunity for you, as the parent or guardian, to actively participate and gain insight as to the daily learning experiences.
Our program will commence on Tuesday, January 27th at HMS (7:30 pm). WILL BE RESCHEDULED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.
The focus or topic will be: Preparing for PARCC.
If you wish to attend, please have your child return the slip (for full letter with return slip Click Here) to their homeroom teacher soon. We do need an accurate count in the event we may need to open another forum or venue.
Once again, thank you for your support. We do hope you are able to join us on January 27th.

Dear Parents and Guardians of High Mountain School Students:
Our children are growing up in a world where technology is a significant and inescapable part of their everyday lives. Today’s young people have almost constant electronic access to friends and others through cell phone conversations and texting as well as through their involvement with social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Due to our genuine concern for the safety and well-being of our students, we are working hard to educate our school community about the dangers that can occur when social media and cell phones are misused. While we approach this topic with seriousness and do conduct in-class lessons, we have a desire to bring awareness to a greater level. As such, I am pleased to announce that the North Haledon Police Department (NHPD) will be conducting an in-school program to inform our students about this topic. In conjunction with this, we will be holding an evening event for parents only on Thursday, February 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the HMS All-Purpose Room. In addition to our Police Department, the Prosecutor will be in attendance to address these vital issues. The purpose of this meeting is to provide parents and guardians with an opportunity to learn about the serious consequences that could result from the misuse of social media and provide ways to effectively monitor and protect our children. In addition to the detailed and informative presentations, there will also be an opportunity for parents to ask questions of these experts.
Our thanks go out to the members of the NHPD and the Prosecutor for their dedication and support as well as for their willingness to assist the North Haledon School District.
I look forward to having you join us for this very important event. So that we can accommodate accordingly, please sign and return the slip (for full letter with return slip- Click Here) by January 26th to the Main Office at High Mountain School.
